Enterprise social and chat applications like Yammer, Salesforce Chatter, Slack, Skype for Business are in demand, and new generation’s user expectation is that you should be able to access work without leaving the chat client whether it is on mobile or desktop client. This is exactly what AgilePoint’s social and chat bot lets you do.
Chat bots are small programs that integrate with a chat platform and provide some advanced type of functionality in a fairly easy fashion. The AgilePoint NX chat bot enables users to access and control their tasks, kickoff processes based on hashtags directly inside of Yammer, Chatter, Slack, Skype for Business etc.
The idea behind AgilePoint NX social as well as chat integration is to let employees interact directly with enterprise applications that matter to them inside the chat client — and bring a level of automation to that. It’s worth noting that it requires a certain keywords to get information or perform an action, but it’s also possible to create connections to enterprise apps with simple hashtags to reduce the amount of typing.
The product lets you create self serve kind of processes where you can just enter a hashtag in the enterprise social chat which kicks off a business process and collects information which can be crunched up from multiple backend systems and presented back to you right within your chat window in matter of seconds.
This isn’t the first time companies have tried to integrate enterprise applications inside a social messaging tool and AgilePoint also has had the hashtag kickoff functionality for a while but it was not until recently till it started capturing the imagination of companies who wish to be though leader within their industry and provide their employees an easy self serve way of operating on a daily basis to reduce the load on IT team. I am going to cover hashtag feature in one of my upcoming blog post soon.
On the same lines AgilePoint NX also lets you approve a task from right within social as well as messengers without having open the form to provide your approval. You can also include task specific contextual information in the message itself so that user can make decision by just looking at the message and respond with a defined keyword and a 6 digit security code to avoid misuse or unintended usage of this functionality. The good thing about this is that keyword can be defined as per your own needs and is not restricted to one of the keywords which is predefined.
I have recorded a quick video on task approval feature through Skype for Business but same functionality is available on other channels like SMS as well.
