Troubleshoot connection error in AgilePoint NX iOS Mobile App with the iOS 9 or Higher

Symptom 1: When you try to connect AgilePoint NX iOS mobile app with iOS 9 or higher this error message shows:

The resource could not be loaded because the App Transport Security policy requires the use of a secure connection.

Resolution: Your connection does not use Apple’s App Transport Security standard.

As per the App Transport Security policy, starting iOS 9, any outbound call from iOS app should be protected with SSL certificate which is TLS 1.2 compatible. If you have a HTTPS endpoint and still getting this error, check your certificate to see if it is TLS 1.2 compliant or not.

Symptom 2: When you try to connect AgilePoint NX iOS mobile app you get an error message which says “Unable to process server data”

Cause: This message indicates that the AgilePoint server endpoint is not reachable

Resolution: When configuring the NX Mobile App settings, provide the ‘Server Instance URL (REST)’ value into the ‘AgilePoint NX Server Instance URL’ field. (not the ‘Server Instance URL (wsHttp)’ value).

How to find your AgilePoint server REST URL

You should try accessing the AgilePoint REST URL “https://<your server name and port>/agilepointserver/workflow” in your mobile device’s browser and see if this is accessible. If you are unable to access it, you might want to involve your network infrastructure team as to how they can expose this resource externally. Please make sure you are using fully qualified domain name protected with SSL certificates.

Another probable cause is that you have a certificate on the server was issued from your internal Enterprise CA. If that is the case, adding the root certificate from internal enterprise CA to the device resolves the issue.
