As we continue our exciting journey through the AgilePoint NX v9.0 SU1 release updates, I’m thrilled to unveil the redesigned Data Entity module! In this blog, we’ll dive into its tech stack upgrades, stunning UI/UX enhancements, boosted security features, and the brand-new functionalities you’ve been asking for.
Tech Stack Modernization
Remember, the theme of the AgilePoint NX v9.0 release was tech stack modernization. Even though the Data Entity module is relatively new, we made it a priority to fully rewrite its tech stack. Now, it runs on the same latest version of ReactJS as the rest of the platform. We’ve also modernized its component libraries, resulting in a smoother and more secure experience that you’ll definitely notice.
A Fresh Look with UI/UX Enhancements
But that’s not all! We’ve given the UI and UX a stunning makeover. Every screen has been redesigned to align seamlessly with the rest of the platform, making your experience more visually pleasing and cohesive. You’ll notice enhancements everywhere:
- Vibrant charts
- Updated color themes
- Improved alignment and spacing
- Fresh fonts, buttons, and icons
- Additional visual effects
Plus, the UI now supports both card view and grid-based view!
On the UX front, we’ve rolled out a host of usability improvements:
- Upgraded search capabilities
- More pragmatic view settings
- Filter settings at the individual app level (highly requested!)
- Visually intuitive bulk operations
- Ability to toggle standard fields on or off
- Enhanced impact analysis and association views for entities and picklists across your entire app portfolio
Enhanced Data Governance and Security
We understand that data governance is crucial for our enterprise customers, and we’ve made it a top priority. Introducing Data Tracking—authorized users can now enable this on selected fields within an entity to view a full history of recorded changes at the individual row level. You’ll see exactly what the old values were and what they’ve been changed to.
On the security front, we’ve added a new permission setting that allows authorized users to view the metadata of the entity, giving your app designers ability to configure form lookups and process activities without needing a designer permission on the underlying data entity.
New Functionalities and GenAI Integration
But wait, there’s more! While our entities already supported date and date-time fields, some of you requested a time-only field—and we’ve delivered.
Before we jump into the demo video, I’d like to highlight another exciting feature from our previous blogs: GenAI integration. Now, you can generate Entities and Picklists via a prompt and even translate them into a language of your choice. How cool is that?
We Value Your Feedback
We’re always on the lookout to improve our offerings. If you have any thoughts, feedback, or enhancement requests, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re eager to hear from you!
Note: This video was recorded during the beta version of this feature. Some labels and icons might change by the time it goes GA (General Availability), but the core concepts of configuring these activities will remain the same.
