In this article, we are going to look at how AgilePoint can work with Blockchain network for creating Blockchain apps for enterprise.
The Blockchain technology has pretty much become a household term by now. Many people wrongly think that the application of Blockchain technology lies only in cryptocurrency. However, as we will see shortly, the Blockchain technology is far more versatile. Enterprises no longer question whether Blockchain is even worth the attention. On the contrary, they are now proactively seeking new ways of incorporating this technology in their legacy systems.
Technical barriers of integrating Blockchain into existing systems are often the biggest obstacles to its widespread adoption. The new AgilePoint NX Blockchain connector will allow clients to integrate a Blockchain network into their day-to-day business processes, creating a secure, digital environment that facilitates data sharing. It will help businesses to fully utilize the power of Blockchain by making it available at the business process layer so that business users can easily consume Blockchain features without knowing all the nitty-gritty behind it. This means business don’t have to rewrite their existing applications to use Blockchain.
AgilePoint integration for Blockchain is pretty deep rooted and is available at the following level:
• Workflow level integration
• Form level integration to natively show data from Smart Contract on the form.
• Blockchain Event Listener for two-way communication where any event raised on Blockchain can initiate a workflow on AgilePoint side.
The scenario I am going to use for this demo is for a Shipping process which involves multiple parties like shipping operator, owner of the goods, trucking company, insurance company who all are separate entities who might not be trusting each other so are joined through a immutable and tamper-proof consortium created in Blockchain.
Please note that at time of recording this video, this connector is in preview and going to be available as a premium connector through additional license so please check with your account representative. Moreover this video was recorded on top of AgilePoint NX v7.0 hence the App Designer and Form UI would look a bit different from the new UI used in AgilePoint NX v8.0 i.e. the release in which the feature would be made available. Lets look at how this works with AgilePoint.
